Company: Synopsys | Role: Senior Graphic Designer | Deliverables: Custom imagery and reusable overlay systems for automotive, IoT, and AI technology
It’s rare to find the perfect stock image, especially in tech, where the products are often brand new.
The challenge: Synopsys’ fast-growing automotive, IoT, and AI tools needed imagery to communicate technologies like facial recognition, autonomous driving, vehicle sensors, and software security. Because the technology was so new, professional stock images that explained these ideas were either poorly designed or didn't exist.
The approach: I researched each technology and created the imagery myself, editing stock photos and adding graphic overlays: facial recognition on a phone, laptop, and rearview mirror; a smart dashboard for an autonomous car; security code layered over a car interior; and street scenes where connected vehicles recognize other cars and signs through sensors. Rather than one-off images, I built the overlays as drag-and-drop elements and styles that could be applied to any photo, so the visual language stayed consistent and could scale across projects.
The result: The system gave Synopsys clear, on-brand imagery for technologies that previously had none, and let the marketing team adapt it across different projects. These images were used on Synopsys' solutions pages, in ad campaigns, and sales presentations.
